Michigan Judge Rules Medical Marijuana Users Can Collect Unemployment

Just weeks after Michigan's Supreme Court ruled that the state's medical marijuana legalization bill, The Michigan Medical Marihuana Act of 2008 (MMMA), did not allow for collectives/dispensaries to exist, another judge has ruled on medical marijuana law.
If someone is fired from their job for MMJ use, he or she is still eligible for state unemployment benefits. ...
In the new decision, if someone is fired from their job for MMJ use, he or she is still eligible for state unemployment benefits. Previously, this was considered a fire-able offense -- failing a drug test without consideration for the medical use. Now, qualified MMJ patients will still receive their unemployment if they fail a drug test for marijuana and subsequently lose their jobs.

Why is it still ok for them to lose their jobs when not even high at work? We'll get to that in a moment.
